IF the car is GOOD spec with tv/nav (the core audience, I.E council types , love the ability to watch big brother in the JD sports carpark!) and clean with no obvious issues and everything working, £1500 is not a bad price. Dare I say it should make £2500 quite easily. Breaking it would be stupid and probably not very profitable.

Is it a facelift or pre-facelift?

If its a facelift loaded in good nick, go for it..

If its a pre-facelift standardish sorry looking one (like some on here!) it ain't worth more than 1K.

It will be a pre facelift on a 'T'.

Sub 100 000 miles, 1 owner and total history are of much more importance to proper victims than council rims/tints/anal eyes/irish plates.

The magpie types to whom the tat appeals will usually be found scouring the pages of sub £1000 9 owner 200000 mile scrap ! :)

I'm sure I've seen facelifts on a late T plate?

I'd buy that! AFAIK no nikasil after sept 98 either so cant really go wrong if it's nice and straight.

Those things pull like an express train too, absolutely rapid for the size of them. The ride quality is second to none too as it has electronic damper control.

If it's a pre-facelift they can still look good with a shadowline kit and a set of M Parralels

Apart from the physical cosmetic differences, I've noticed the pre-facelift in good nick is preferred over the facelift..

The chrome doesn't look too bad on a 7s. Debated weather dechroming mine but I'm actually feeling the standard look, even to the orange indicators :o:

That sounds a like a very nice unmolested E38. I hope anyone who buys it, does not council it up.
