Mine has ASC also altohugh it gave up the ghost weeks ago and havent bothered to check why as of yet

Fit a twin exhaust from a 328i?Surely thats got to help?
Bigger injectors from a 2.8/M3 perhaps?
Or just upgrade to 2.8 engine and stick the M50 fanimold on that winkeye

No E36 M3 came with ASC, just a slipper.

Talking of which, i've just bought an evo.

My Mrs 323i saloon has ASC.

I fitted a complete 2.8 twin pipe system to my mrs 323i saloon.

Its made a noticable difference.

Compacts come with ASC too, On the compact the ASC switch is on the dash at right hand side of steering wheel, if you had it the light would come on then go out when you start the car up. The light is the one between the speedo and rev counter, the one that is all on its own.

Fitting the M50 mani wont affect the ASC.

Other options are the usual - BBTB, exhaust, davef filter etc. You could also fit an LSD off a 3.0 M3 - straight fit too 8)

Are you referring to a B28 LSD or swapping the engine over to a B28?

Changing an engine over isn't quite the same as getting more power out of your current engine to be fair. You could say the same and suggest fitting an S50B32.

The cost of changing the engine compared to upgrading the current one is like chalk and cheese. Fair enough, an M52B28 will give him more power that his current 2.3, but it's still an awful lot of time and money (compared to say fitting an exhaust which seems to be the option he's opted for)

And even then, and M52B28 would still need all of the above mods to be done in order to be running at it's full potential, (unless it's an early one in which case it may have an LSD)
