bmwe30mtech (NEGATIVE FEEDBACK!)

I have bought stuff from Paul in the past, and know he's a reliable seller.
BUT, on this case, I bought and paid for a Heated seat kit that has not turned up now for 2 weeks.
He now refuses to refund me my £150 I piad for through paypal.
To say he's "not refunding" the money as it's down to me is a joke!
You posted the item, I haven't recieved it, simple!
I want the refund.

I didn't say it is down to you Rav, I said it is not my fault Royal Mail have lost it, and that as there is no tracking number with Royal Mail, I cannot trace it for you.

I posted it for you the morning after you paid me, and I posted it at my expense after you knocked me down on price. I did this to be nice to you and help keep within your budget, despite another zone member offering me full price + postage. I have bent over backwards to provide you a good service and at a price you wanted to pay (i.e. free postage for you), I think you are being unfair. I have a receipt of proof of postage.

Paul

Paul, our conversation was you including the pastage, as I put a buyer onto you for the exhaust, and he paid and collected the same day.
Fair play, it was a favour for a favour.
I'm not bothered about Royalmail, If you had said that "Rav, it's got to be registered", I would have understood, infact I thought you would have being an expensive bit of kit.
I send ALL my goods out registered, the buyer understands that I wil NOT send it out otherwise.
To say your not Refunding me the money is Harsh, as it didn't just drop into my pocket.I've contacted you via Phone and PM, and even gave you the benefit of another week, still nothing.
I would have refunded my buyer no problem and taken it up with Royalmail.
You are a long term zoner, as me, and i'm not standing a loss of £150 for goods not recieved.

Surely you two chaps can sort this out in private? You're both well thought of and this shouldn't be for public consumption.

I would have thought so as well, I'm not the one who made it public, we had been talking via pm until Rav posted this up tonight in two threads!

It was via PM and phonecalls Boyd, but when I was told "No chance of a refund, not my problem" , it needed to be public, so everyone else who deals with Paul now know that if things go missing, he doesn't give a 5hit.
So much for a "Trusted Zoner"

Rav, I would give it a bit longer. I know you should have expected the item to have arrived by now but Royal mail are not the most reliable.

For the benefit of this going Pete Tong, I have no problem with another week, I know this is not how I would have wanted this to play out, but with no help on locating this stuff, if lost, I stand to lose £150.
How would you feel? :?

I'm in no rush to fit these, but I like stuff I pay for to turn up within an expected time, as my buyers do.

I just did a search for my username on the zone and you have three threads running badmouthing me to fellow members - you haven't even had the decency to give me a ring to chat about it, you have my number on your phone, and I make it freely available on here - this is simply unacceptable.

Start behaving more maturely Rav, stop jumping the gun and expecting the worse of people, pm or text me your postal code so I know which parcel was yours and I will go to the post office in the morning (despite being very busy and working long hours) and try and sort this out for you. Is that satisfactory? If you could perhaps stop trying to discredit me all over the zone until I have done this, that would be appreciated.

I'll keep it on Here Paul.
Will pm you my post code.
TBH, if this is what you said in the pm in the first place, it wouldn't have come to this.

You said, I would have to contact Royalmail myself that got my back up, and also, you don't give refunds???

I'll give it another week as I said above.

2 decent honest guys should surely be able to come to some agreement ?

Rav I'm certain Paul will have sent this out he's true to his word, give the post a bit of time to get their sh1t together after all we have just had a bank holiday and no doubt that has had a knock on effect with the deliveries ?

incidentally I have just found a parcel hidden in my garden, probably been there over a week

I would think that parcel is lost for sure, untraced Royal mail means "you may receive it" and after 2 weeks I wouldn't hold out hopes as those jobsworths are useless, the whole organisation is heading for a fall.

Sorry to here this but I send everything I sell with at least some form of tracking and prefferably a signature and insurance for anyhting of any value. If it's £10-£20 I don't worry too much as I would just refund and not worry about it.

We used to get this all the time at work but now we don't even use Royal mail special delivery we use UPS and the customer pays the cost of it or it isn't worth selling the item in the first place.

Hope it turns up and sorry it has happened

It's not Rav's heated seat parts is it? You know how bad Royal Fail can be!

Thats the reason why i send everything recorded, theres no question about it being sent, how about if you both meet half way, 50% refund, doesn't hurt as much to either party.

I don't need suggestions from others about how to resolve this, thanks.

I filled out the Royal Mail lost item form and posted it today Rav. It said on the form you will usually hear back from them within 4 weeks. Perhaps the parcel will turn up in that time anyway, but I have done all I can now, and will let you know their response when I recieve it.

Good luck with the royal mail, I lost £60 on an item because it wasn't insured to the total value, and it was sent registered and still went AWOL.

These things happen, the seller is judged on how it plays out IMO.

rav did you ask paul to send it recorded?

assuming and telling the person you buying it off, is 2 totally different things... if the item was expensive, you should have made it clear to paul that you wanted it posted recorded delivery, that way at least you have a small chance of it being delivered by RM, and maybe compensated if they lost it, as long as it was insured for that amount, otherwise you would get the standad amount back, which i think is around £50....

at least with recorded, both parties are safer, the seller would know it was posted, and the buyer cant lie about not receiving it...

if it was posted standard, how would paul know that your not trying it on, not saying you are, just an example...

so why would he refund?

No Shak, I didn't ask for a recoreded delivery, I thought due to the value of the goods it would be, as you say , safer for both parties.
I for one would have posted it recoreded.
I would never post out anything 2nd class to a buyer either, no matter what the value.

And regards to your comment of "Trying it on"?
I'm not like that.
Plenty of zoners on here know me well enough to say I wouldn't do that.

because its the seller that needs to make sure the buyer gets the item ,how he sends it and how much it cost is up to the seller ,now days you can send a parcel for £5 with a courier which has better chances then royal mail

I used to sell general electric tat on ebay ive had a fair experience with this.

Generally if its that price it should be recorded delivery. No point Using hindsight now I suppose!

No judgement on either party but I have heard of Scams on ebay of buying a item and its not reordered buyer says item not received. So seller is forced to give a refund. Buyer gets free item

Hopefully it turns up. I'm waiting on items that are late, Im just putting it down to Back log of parcels due to bank holiday Monday.

Not that im taking sides.
Rav if u paid threw paypal ure protected by them as long as you said money was for an item.

At last, someone who agrees with what i've been saying.

@Bab-91.
Totally understand what you're saying, it does happen on ebay alot.
But this is a forum, where people have known each other for a while.
Don't tar me with the same brush.
Thanks

Money was sent as a Gift as requested to Paul,so don't know if I am protected.

:td:

Sure both buyer and seller between the 20k plus posts made have had their fair share of input on others feedback, so I for one say this should remain open until it is resolved.

Items were bought and sold using forum tools, so only fair the 'forum' gets to see this out in the open.

I only send things by Special Delivery or Parcel Farce 24.

Royal Mail are quite capable of losing Recorded Delivery items so I always print a return adress label to put on the side, with this and the delivery address taped over with clear tape so it can't come off.
