5,6 series seats fit the E30?

Can you take seats from 5 or 7 series cars of the era and fit them in an E30 ?

I wanted to put some black Vader leather seats from an E36 m3 into my E30 a while back. I was told they would physically fit but the mounts might be a problem.... I reckon the propper 'armchairs' from the E32 seven might be a problem but the sports seat from an E34 would be great!
Sorry I can't be more help - you need to get to a scrappy and see what the runners/mountings are like - this'll help you to get the one which need the least fettling!

E28 5 series front seats will certainly fit (ie 5 series 81-87) not sure about E24 6 series they should do; 7 series will not. Your best bet are E28 5 series sports seats, all you need to do is take the runners off and put you E30 ones on, as the E28 runner position is wider apart.

Ive got e24 635 recaro seats in my touring and they fit as long as you don't have a 2 door (The outside bolt hole uses the bolt for the seatbelt runner.) The front will fit onto the inside stud, but not the outside one. I'm sorting some 1/2 inch bar stock with some holes drilled in it at the right spacing. Then It'll all be safe and sound!

Hi Jam, there's a set of E28 seats on the 5series forum I'm considering but was thinking if they'd fit. If you say so, I reckon I could swap em over. My comfort seats are well tired, but they ARE heated so I'll miss that!!!

My comfort seats are well tired, but they ARE heated so I'll miss that!!!
Just remove the heating elements from the comfort seats and put them on the E28 seats.
