Just given my car a coat of this and waiting for it to dry then buff off.

I was wondering if I can use this on my wheels. I remember years ago about using wax on your wheels as it helps stop brake dust building up. If its ok ill have the wheels off and do the insides and out tommorrow.

Cheers

no harm in putting a nice coat of wax on your wheels but you are better of using a wheel seel products, i.e the one form chemical guys.

i have used carnabu wax on my wheels before i fitted them to the car.

You can wax your wheels but the durability of it won't be as good as a dedicated wheel sealant.

Break dust is quite aggressive and tends to melt through normal waxes, a wheel sealant is designed to cope with the higher temperatures. Average lifespan between application is about 6-8 months.

As Ian said, Chemical guys do a sealant called Wheel guard, About £12 a pot and lasts ages. I have done three sets of wheels with my pot and it doesn't seem to have used much at all!

I used a microfiber cloth to polish the car just as it started to rain so put the car in the garage and finished off. Looks great then I spotted a twig in my rain gutter that I could not reach with my fingers so got a screwdriver out and whooops......................world goes into slow mortion as I saw it falling onto the bonnet...........nnnnoooooooo...........bang...........clatter...............clatter. :cens: another couple of chips to add to my collection. Its only when you go right over the car you realise how many chips are on it, she really needs a respray at some point.

No problem with the stripes they just peeled off. I didnt even use any heat but had polished my car a few weeks before I put them on. They say to use a hair dryer to warm the glue up before you try to peal them off.
