Looks very nice, What is the flake action like in comparison to the swissvax? What did you use after claying, As I have heard that the Blackfire range is very fussy with what it will bond to.
Can i ask why you clayed after using cleaner fluid? I would have thought it would defeat the object of using cleaner fluid.

Hi d6dph
With regard to the flake it seems a little more reflective, more depth like a 'wet look' effect. A much deeper finish.
The car was 'cleansed' again before applying the blackfire. it took to the paint-work very well, without any problems.

I fear it may be a waste of cleaner fluid using it pre-clay, I don't mean to try to teach you what I'm sure you already know
My regime is:
Prewash
Wash
Clay
Wash
Paint cleaner
Wax
**Note to self, GET OUT MORE!**

No not at all. All comments and pointers welcome.
I think a sit down and a cigarette is in order!
Am right in saying that you can't put Carnuba wax on Blackfire or is it the other way around?? Any ideas

Yeah, you can only use blackfire carnuba withthe sealant, I think it goes really hazywith any other wax.

beautiful hubble!
You are gonna have to give me your advice on cleaning up my car when I get it finished. I dont have a clue about any of these cleaning products. never used clay bar before. My routine is wash thoroughly, t-cut or other cheap polishand then wax.- probably sounds pathetic compared to what you do but it takes me hours.

how long does it take you to clean and detail yours hubble?
Its strange how the silver paintwork doesnt give such deep reflections as darker colours. Yours looks almost 'pastel' in certain pics. awesome

looks good but im with dave on what he said.
i owuld be intrested to know how long it takes you to do he outside completely as it takes me about 4-5hours all done roughly.
i prefer the other photos for some reason dunno why the reflection and flakes seems to be better in the other photos. but it is probally completely different in the flesh.

Thats one beautifully clean car. How long have you had her? I can only imagine paint looking that good after all these years with either a respray or being owned by someone as dedicated as your good self

Hi Jon. Thanks for your comment. The tyre glaze is Autosmarts 'High Style' I like tryng different products on the car and found this gave a nice rich even finish. Becauce I go through quite a lot of the stuff, it wasn't practable to but Meguirars. One bottle of that is gone in a month.
So what would you recommend for a satin tyre finish jon?

Hi Dave. No problem, anytime. Cleaning and detailing can take upto 10 hours. Because the car's paint-work is in good condition I can sometimes bring that time down. It's all about the preperartion and proceedure.
I appreciate that most members don't have that sort of time on their hands, but fortunately I have so I make the most of it.
As for the photos, no tweaking has been done to the colours, but the car in the flesh is another story. Certain panels look like polished glass rather than steel. Glad you them though

Thanks. I've had it just over five years now. The car was in virtually mint condition when I bought it, but as I now cover 20k a year certain panels have been repainted. Minor stone chips removed, rust treated etc.
It's hard work keeping it in the condition it's in especially covering the miles I do. Your prone to all sorts of crap flying about chip here, blemish there etc too.

Hi Ian. Thanks for you comment.
All in about 10 hours. This will include the interior too...and a tea break!
Oakey also mentioned the photos too. Could possibly have been the lighting. Yesterday's weather was a little hit and miss.

Jon. Love the CSL.
You mentioned earlier that you spent 21 hrs detaling it. How bad was the paintwork??

it wasnt that bad
its just iam a little obseesive and i went through 9 products on paint alone
i do take my time with porter and work fairly small areas at a time
there were very very few marks tho paint surface was contaminanted
lot of paint too with all being colour coded and then having to work the carbon roof
then its allthe fiddly bits that you o first time you detail
i enjoy it tho

I forgot about the carbon fibre roof. Was that easy to work on?
Do you also use a paint meter at all??
Not easy is it. There just isn't enough time in a day to do it all. The hours just seem to fly by.

That's where the fun starts Ian. Plenty of cotton wool swabs, a good vac, glass cleaner, plastic cleaner, plastic restorer, microfibres, I'm sure there's something else...

Thanks crazy. Claying approx every three months. It gets the full monty, claying polishing and waxing. I've now aabandoned the blackfire in favour of swissvax. The shine and finish is far superior.

I've never heard of swissvax is this like a life shine paint sealer or is it a brand of car care products? I've never actually clayed any of the two cars just done them with Auto glym super resin, what should I be doing to get the best result on black paint work?

How are you doing Jon, well I hope. Getting more into the detailing side of things. The sport is looking better every day thanks to lots of TLC.
