Hello mate
It seems you have the same problem I did a few weeks back, here is how I got mine back up to scratch...
1. I kicked off with Autoglym shampoo (I don't recommend it!)
2. I used Poorboy's SSR2 and a variable speed Silverline mop - the paint was slightly oxidised and this brought the shine back a treat. It only needed low rpm and a soft foam pad.
3. Meguiar's Quick Clay, doing one section at a time, two applications on each panel left paint feeling like glass.
4. Followed by two coats of P21-S Carnauba Wax.
The results, hope that helps...

shit me..............that is good.
you car's exactly the same as mine as well so ive got a real good idea how its going to turn out.
the autoglym shampoo , is that a no no then............why?
altogether how much did it cost for the treatments you bought and where did you get them from.
cheers

The Autoglym creates suds but they die after a couple of minutes, and I've always been told suds create the lubrication to prevent scratches. It doesn't look/feel like there is anything in the bucket! Zymol Autobathe/Swissol Car Bath and Meguiar's Hyperwash out class it - in my opinion anyway!
The mop was just under 30 boomer and the pads were about 3.50 each. However,
www.cleanandshiny.co.uk do Lake Country pads and they are meant to be the business.
Poorboy's SSR 2.5 was 12.99 from eBay, Quick Clay was 11.99, P21S cleanser was a tenner and the P21S Carnauba Wax was nearly a score.
www.motorgeek.co.uk and
www.cleanandshiny.co.uk are the way to go.
Don't polish before claying though, like I did. Tut tut.

I have a 5 series in white and it had dull flat paintwork, I washed the car with turtlewax shampoo (use any quality automotive shampoo) then dry with a chamois leather then cut the paint with a paint restorer-T-cut is the most popular but to be honest its a right pain to use so I swear by the TurtleWax version-I think they may have replaced it I don't know but its not the stuff in the new green bottles (I've never used the green bottle it may well be the same stuff inside) its hard to find but the last bottle cost me two quid a month ago-its brilliant and very easy to use and miles better than T-cut or any of its competitors I tried loads of different makes but thats the best-then its just a case of using a polish or wax afterwards to seal the paint, then just wash it using a quality car shampoo regularly-easy and it even worked on a red car I had which are notorious for fading. Nice and shiney!

Clay bar the paintwork first to remove contaminants, shampoo it off apply polish and mop with electric buffer, and watch that shine.......

White looks a cracking colour when its bought to life..
I used Autoglym colour restorer(not quite as abrasive as t cut) on my car and the rest of the products i use are from Tesco's car care range!...the results speak for themselves....
