E30 Zone

Just had full respray, picked the car up and left it in the rain, came back to it today and where the water has dried on the boot, it has left really bad water marks. Been really sunny and hot here today..

Its hard to describe, but it's like the water has "sunk" into the top coat where the water has puddled and left a noticable impression (you can feel it if you run your finger over them)

I'm gutted, do you think that the top coat will "rise" back up as it wasn't baked on and is very soft to the touch..??

Any help or advice would be great as i'm gutted..!!

had this happen on a clay model in germany that was fresh painted tho it was clear coat.

it took all night and next day to cut out the water marks

Whats the best thing to use to cut it back, i have some rubbing compound, or will that be too harsh? don't want to mess it up too much..!!

my advice is leave alone for 14 days thn come and ask me
if i tell you now i know you will try it and you want to let paint fully go off first otherwise its easy to make a mess!!!!

Mate i feel for you. People dont realise just how much havoc ordinary water can cause. I had a similar thing with my alloys when it came back from paint shop. Cause the alloy wasn't coated, the water they were using whilst painting splashed onto my wheels and when it dried it looked terrible. I tried everything including mothers that Jon suggested, but it hasn't worked. It's now going to cost me £200 to £300 to have them repolished

Cant you just rob some Granny and use th money to have the car repainted
