Tips for under the hood

Hey zone,

Does anyone have any tips for me in terms of pimping up/cleaning my engine bay? I took some degreaser to it last week, but it all still feels very old and stock. Planning to change the oil breather hose for a filter, spraying rocker cover and air filter housing.

Any other nice little shiny add on’s you’d recommend? Will upload a photo later

Cheers
Jo

Depends how much time and money you're prepared to invest. Particularly time. Mine looks like this....

....and took a lot of elbow grease. Painting the rocker cover always makes a big difference, as does cleaning the screen wash bottle and expansion tank. Another part that nearly always looks rough is the brake servo. Taking it out and painting it makes a big difference. Trouble is after doing these parts it makes everything else look manky so you feel compelled to do everything. It's a lot of work but worth it imo.

That looks amazing mate, well done. To be honest I really get into it, so don’t mind putting the time in! Will post a photo once I get the rocker cover done!

Thanks for the tips

That is immaculate. I need to do that before the show in August but don't think I'll have enough free time for it. I haven't had time to do the E30 but the E46 came out well after a good degrease and scrub then a finish up with Meguiars engine dressing. Both cars were degreased then allowed to dry before applying the dressing.
