Although ive not tried it myself this looks like a solution:

might be worth trying it on a spare set from the breakers first.

Peanut butter may actually do something. Works on black!

Didn't work for me if you both are talking about C4.

Cool! I would've wrote it up, but was in a rush at the time. Believe it or not I have asked people how they restored their seat belt buttons before and they completely ignored me; obviously didn't want me to be in the new seat belt button club!

1) Clean the button with acetone (I used a toothbrush) several times for around 2-3 minutes.
2) When you're happy that it's clean, put some gtechniq C4 on it with the applicator.
3) Once dry, dust off any residue with a micro-fibre cloth.

DONE!

I'll stick a pic up for a before and after when I get a minute.

PS Try to avoid getting acetone on the black plastic surround; it messes it up!

The heat method destroys the casing and distort's it just as it gets hot enough to work - so don't use the heat gun method - mine were all pinkish white, tried T cut and various other plastic restorers, they looked great for 10 minutes then slowly turned whitish again.

Today I was fiddling about and scratched the surface with my thumbnail - red appeared, did all four, using fingernails and a dry kitchen sponge scourer - good as new - no product - strange.

I just cleaned, and then painted mine with red model paint. Looks very good, and seems to be lasting well. Only takes 5 minutes to redo too.
