Removing vinyl graphics/stickers...

Hi guys,

Haven't done any real cleaning/detailing for years, but I really need/want to get all the stickers and other crap off my car.

I've used a heatgun and it does help soften the vinyl, but it's so old it doesn't really peel off, it just flakes apart.
It's leaving a lot of sticky residue on the car!!! (see pic below!!!)

I'm wondering about using some clay - maybe something like meguiars quik clay - starting with the bonnet and gradually moving around the rest of the car.
I've never used clay before so I want something easy to work with and the tutorial makes it look simple.
Will it remove this sticky residue???

Any better options/ideas???
Or tips for removing the rest of the stickers???

A clay bar will work but a tar & glue remover or APC is less agressive and will probably work faster.

Didn't know such a thing existed!!! I've ordered some tar & glue remover and will see how it does!!!

Hopefully I can leave the clay for another time!!!

Cheers!!!

spray leave for a min, then wipe, remember to polish the area afterwards though.

A kettle of hot water is sometimes better than heat gun I find.

Thinners to remove the residue. Then a mop.
