Megulars Quik Detailer

Can someone of good knowledge of detailing tell me what they think of the above product ?

Also what is the purpose of it ? Is it to use in between proper wash and waxes ?

I had mine professionally valeted the other day so exterior, interior, wash, clay bar, polish, wax, steam cleaned interior etc.

Does using Quik detailer for removing dust and fingerprints not cause damage to the paintwork ? The labels says should be used for removing light dust and finger prints. Works in a mist and wipe fashion.

Thanks very much.

I used it on mine after I did the meguires 3 stage thing. Used it primarily to get the dust off the car after it's been in the garage and also before I put it away to get rid of rain spots.

I don't think it would cause damage to the paintwork but obviously it depends on what you're wiping off - I'm not sure I'd use it as an alternative to a proper wash.

I am intending to use it to keep the dust and finger prints off when I leave the vehicle in a garage.
Does it really add much protection on top of wax protection ?

It wont add protection, ok for removing light marks but try not to use it for removing heavy dust/dirt etc as you will just scratch the paint. You are better off covering your clean car in the garage

I got some megulars gold class Quik detailer from Gaydon the other week.
Says to be used between washing and waxing.
And good for removing light dust and finger prints. And the label says adds some protection on top of any wax you may have already. Really used as a maintenance thing.

But tbh I think gives nice shine but with anything except very light dust would potentially harm the paint.
Amazing how the dust builds up even in just 7 days.
Paint is quite smooth now having had clay bar.

Meguiars QD is good, I have been using it until recently. I have changed to Formula Clean Quick Detail spray, its so much better and is just as diverse, QD spray, pad spritz, finger print removal, the lot.

Out of interest, (as I prob won't get mine done until after winter), where did you get your full valet done???
And, obviously, would you recommend them???

When claying you have to use a lubricant, some clays require a quick detailer while some just need water.
