Any recommendations ?

Came to wash the E46 yesterday and found that my supply of Duco wash/wax shampoo that has kept me going for about 10 years has finally run out

I know Simoniz stuff is cheap and cheerful but this looks ok :



I'm not into spending £150 on a tiny pot of polish or any of that cobblers

Any other recommendations for sensibly priced stuff ?

Turtle wax I use and find it good, that simoniz looks good too and cheap. To me shampoo is all pretty much the same.

id say its all pretty much the same , its how you dry it really, demon shine is great stuff to aid drying and no water marks for when you do a quick wash

If you wax your car you will notice how long the wax is lasting depending on what shampoo your using, I certainly do, cheaper shampoo will strip off the wax and appear to be cleaning better, its all about the paint prep before you even get the car dirty, ive found autoglym to be pretty good for my needs, doesnt strip the wax off and you only need a cap full in a bucket of water, I got it in a 5l bottle for about £15, its lasted me 2 or 3 years so far.
The effects of different shampoo will be much less noticeable on clear coat paint though.

If your not into waxing your car, you should just buy the cheapest shampoo on the shelf, or get down the koso car wash with a fiver like I do when my daily driver is dirty

you should always keep a car well detailed and waxed, escpecialy an older car,then cleaning it is just a quick clean and wheel clean, jet wash underside as and when if needed, never let it get really dirty

I like Autoglym stuff so will check it out cheers Dan - didnt know that about it stripping the wax off I only usually wax the turds a couple of times a year so probably need to bear that in mind

Anything with a rust inhibitor. Such as Autoglym.

i use halfords own brand stuff.

buy a big container, don't worry about buying shampoo for a few years.

when it runs out, buy another.

The turtle wax they seem to have on offer for ever is good as well, and just a cap full or two is good in like half a bucket or 3/4, just wet the car with a hose and soap it down and hose again, works well and does not cut through the wax on the car if any.

I use zaino, smells awesome and gives got results.

Always used Autoglym's shampoo and have no complaints. I also use their HD Wax and only need to apply this every 4-6 months whilst using their shampoo. It's good stuff.

I use Dodo Juice sour power - best stuff i've used so far! I'll be buying some zaino though soon to try out because of Kitchs recommendation and im impressed with their other products ive used.
