I think the OP is offering to pay someone to come along and spray his car with the matt black rattle cans, which he may have ready for the job..?

@ OP, the first thing is to test that your paint doesn't react with the original, saying this, even if you do get a reaction, applying exceptionally thin coats - allowing them to dry and keep building them up that way is not only the way to get a better result, but will avoid any nasty reactions.

A decent finish is is mostly in the prep, masking, dust proofing etc.. As for prepping the surface, get some fine sand paper and key it up, wipe down with thinners and just spray.

You'd spend £100 on sandpaper, panel wipe, masking and all the rest of it before you got near the paint...

Is this for real? You'd spend more that £100 on rattle cans, let alone proper paint. And then you have all the other stuff needed as mentioned above!

I wouldn't say it's by any means easy to do a professional job - it involves hours of rubbing down and masking for prep, careful matching/blending of paint then lots of polishing afterwards, and that's before you consider the fitting-up process of trim, lights, etc, etc.

Usually has to be done in dusty conditions, and under sometimes intense deadline pressure too.

100 pounds sterling? :D You're optimist...
I actuall have a shop, could do the job for you. Will be more like a £1000 though. You have to bear in mind it's a lot of working going into it.
Firstly if you are doing respray you might as well do all the rusty spots, there is no doubts you will have them. That would mean cleaning (sand blasting) to a bare metal, then putting a coat on bare metal, sanding down, primer, sanding down, base, lacquer. Same will all other areas, they have be matted dow, all the small scratches and dints repaired (lets face it, you will have them). Once its primed, matted down and masked you can put a base and a lacquer. Materials alone will cost more than a £100!
Let me know if anyone will do it for tha.
