Hi folks thinking of doing a diy refurb on my wheels just to make them look at bit more presentable till I can afford a new set.

Any recomendations on what paint to use and where to get it.

Thinking either a very shiny silver or gloss black.

I am doing the same on mine, AutoGlym make an alloy wheel Rattle can.

I am going to use Plasticote metal paint, they do a primer, silver, black and most other colours, also do a seperate lacquer if you want a really glossy finish.

My neighbour did his with the Plasticote in a dark silver (almost anthrasite) and they look as new. Remember the final result is in the prep work.

Just thought, depending on what wheels you have and what they are made of, take the paint off and just polish them, takes a while and then use a wheel sealant and lots and lots of paste wax to protect them.
