What do wax your car with?

I've started using Meguires Gold Class shampoo and wax. Shampoo along gives an amazingly shiny result.

Ive recently bought the 3 stage wax to try. Will let know know the results first time I try it :D

I gave up on the autoglym wax because of the powder that you end up with after polishing.

Meguires 3 stage is dammn good. The 1st stage being a T-cut kinda thing, 2nd stage being the polish and 3rd being the carnabour (however u spell it) Wax!

Found Autoglym annoying with the powder it created afterwards too, but it used to bring my old Red car to a good shine tho! Even if i did find myself blowing white specks out of nooks and crannys for ages after!

Meguiars rules for us 'lay-men' polishers. I use it and it produces amazing results. Very impressed.

I have lots of differents stuff, but Meguiars is probably the best. The Tech wax is very quick and easy to apply. My favourite is Swissol, the natural waxes they use are just brilliant, but it depends on how good you're paint is in the first place

Like Will, I use Autoglym but it produces this white powder that gets into all the panel gaps.

Will lgo to HAlfords at the weekend and look at using Meguiars. I alreay use their trim detailer so will give the rest of it a go.

imho

worth a try
meguiars (iam not a fan but very good results with minimal effort)
swissol
zymol (not shop bought)
P21s (very very good but not amazingly durable)

oh and ZAINO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! which is my favourite

but finish is only as good as your prep and for you to get best out of products then surface prep is the key

I've used Zymol for a while and if I'm honest it's not as good as people say, it leaves a lovely finish and the smell is amazing but it doesn't last more than a couple of weeks.

Autoglym is far more impressive for a longer amount of time. Halfords own make polish is actually pretty good stuff too.

Autoglym. 8)

Autoglym car shampoo and conditioner.
Autoglym chamois.
Autoglym Ultra Deep Shine polish.
Then finally wax with autoglym product aswell.

Usually take a clean polishing cloth and go over the car again after ive done the above stages, to get rid of any dust/powder thats left over.

Inside, i use meguires leather conditioner, and some lemon shine stuff thats been in the shed for years  smells good and leaves a good finish on the plastics.

Usually gets a shampoo/condition and chamois every 2 days, then the proper "works" once a week.

Enjoy cleaning my car, gives me a sense of pride, and nothing beats a shining car especiallywhen you get comments on how good it looks from other enthusiasts, cant beat it. :D

Meguiars all the way.
Used to use Autoglym and must say its not bad but Meguiars is a better product. When valeting customer cars I normally use the 3 step system (as mentioned above, cleaner/polish/caranuba wax) and I have never had an unhappy customer.

If anyone wants to drop into Etechmotorsport (PO9 1JB) WE STOCK a large range of Meguiars and we can discount for Zoners !!!!

Autoglym all the way. I have 20 different Autoglym products I use on the car. If the weather is good at the weekend I hop to use them all in readiness for the winter. :D

i still continue to be amazed in some respects how many people use autoglym tho i guess there is a lot of high profile advertising that goes on and therefore its presnted to people as they read the mags

autoglym really is a hardwork product that has far more downside than upside

i respect peoples choices and thats fine but truely there are products out there that make life a lot easier and give far better results

i nderstand what you say about zymol but there is areason
zymol is a wax.wax is not by its nature very durable and thus zymol and other true carnuba waxes will give a very good finish but will need "topping " up to maintain finish

I've used Maguire's for a while now (Cause i had loads of stuff that i've collected from doing shows) and i have been impressed with the results to date, but after chatting to Jon i'm going to be switching to Zaino as soon as i find the time to take the car back to bodyshop to have the little blemishes polished out. Any product that is better than Maguirs has to be fantastic so it's got to be worth a try

Jon well done for keeping your composure mate :D I know it must be killer for you to hear all these folks go on about Autoglym and stuff, but you've managed to avoid busting out and i'm impressed mate :D Dont worry dude. I'll be joining the Zaino posse soon then we can win all the show and shin competitions together winkeye

Yeah i understand that, and it's something i'd use all the time if i had a show and shine car simply because the finish is amazing. But in everyday use on my audi A4 i was after something more durable. Horses for courses i guess.
