Thinners will be quickest aslong as it's a good paint finish do it doesn't melt the paint, if not get some panel wipe (degreasor) both on a rag or tissue and soak it and the get ur nail and scrape it off or a scraper and cover it with tissue so u don't gag it.

I reckon it will be harder with the bonnet on.
The trick is to the leave turps (white spirit) on for a while to dissolve the glue as per the link to my original thread.
Saves a lot of hard work and removing the bonnet is a 5 min job

What about getting the bonnet back on? Does it need lining up or does it sit perfect everytime? This is a next week jobbie I think...

Mark the hinge position before you remove the bonnet. You can loosen the bolts with the bonnet up then rest it down and remove them. You can then just lift it off (probably need a hand with this). Don't forget to disconnect strut and washer lines.
Installation, as they say, is the reverse. Tighten the botls finger tight, lift the bonnet and carefully line up the markings you have made and nip up bolts. Simple

You certainly dont need to remove bonnet.
AutoSmart do a spray 'glue' remover which I used for this very purpose which made life very simples.
Cover engine are with dust sheets
Remove what you can first
spray on and leave to soak into the glue
using plenty of old cloths it wipes off
for stubborn bits redo
will check in garage tomorrow what its called and tel no for AutoSmart but franchise dealers around country if you google.

Did mine last week, havent got replacement yet... Scrapped off as much as I could, then soaked it in turps like suggested for about 30 minutes while I tinkered about in the engine bay. Just need to get some cash for new now.

I got mine from Pelican Parts - cheaper to get shipped in from LA than to buy from BMW in my home town
Sticks good and fits perfect

Can do a genuine BMW 3 piece kit for £20. The kit is in Lincoln so not too far from you in Leicester. PM me if interested.
