E30 Zone

Does anyone know the best way to get my seats back to prestine condition? They have no rips at all, just used with 'stretch/creases' in the leather, want them to be black again as they aren't.

I had a look earlier whilst at asda (dont worry, i wasnt going to buy anything) but all they had was Leather wipes which are over priced baby wipe...

Anyone help?

Gliptone leather feed or a slightly more expensive option is to get a kit from 'furnitureclinic'.

Gliptone is good I've used it on my leather seats have come up good. Use small amounts on the seats and let it soak in for around 12 hours and re treat again I do my seats once month, at first I did them once a week

I just brought some Gliptone off ebay... The cleaner & conditioner for £11.55. Hope it does the trick. The advert certainly made it look good. Get a cloth with it too... Woo hoo...

To wash the seats, I used a nail brush poured some cleaner into a small pot, and picked with warm water and worked it in, not to hard, let dry wiped off, then treated, I found do around ,5 treatments to one clean, until seat start coming up again.

if they have lost colour, then they will need recoloring and colonising. no amount of glipton will solve the probelm you have

£200, for professional trim shop to do it. thats to clean, re colour and seal the seats.

the DIY options are limited, and the furniture clinic kits are best left for used car sales men

Gliptone is a good choice, you may find some of the colour returns as the muck is cleaneed away, certainly did in mine

The man is talking sense. Leather cleaners will only do so much, and they certainly won't restore colour or a damaged/worn finish that is no longer there. Having the seats re-finished will be a long term solution, effectively making the finish 'as new' again.

Well at the moment I'm waiting for the car to come back from being sprayed as it was patchy when I brought it. A friend of mine is doing it for nothing other than material costs... Only thing is, he is taking ages as he has to fit it in when he can and it needed a far old fill too. So until I get it back I can't even try this stuff... I have a feeling it's not gonna bring back the faded parts but I can't really afford £200 for a retrim, not just yet anyway.

You won't get a retrim for £200 - what Kos is quite rightly saying is that you'll get the existing leather re-finished for that sort of figure. To re-trim the seats would be significantly more expensive.

Also, try LTT kit.

I am saving up to go on one of their courses.

I had a 325i sport about 6 years ago and used Gliptone gentle cleaner (GT12), followed by Gliptone Scuff Master and then Gliptone conditioner (GT11). The cleaner does exactly what it says on the tin, the scuff master puts the colour back in the seats where they are cracked and worn and the conditioner conditions and gives you back the smell of leather. The results were brilliant, seats looked and smelt like new and all for 20 quid. I have recently bought another 325i Sport with the same problem of cracked and worn seats and I have just bought some Gliptone to restore them. Very good value for money and great finish, (P.S.
