if you want a car to shine, your best clay baring it, polishing, then applying the wax :)

I would suggest Autoglym Super Resin polish. It's not too harsh but good enough to hide and fill up light surface scratches and swirls for a while.

If you want it completely removed, you will need more stronger stuff like G3 compound what they use in bodyshops, with a toffee wheel. (Depending on how deep the scratches are ofcoarse).

A good wax which everyone recommends is Zymol. ABout £12 a bottle from Halfords.

Autoglym SRP is a great swirl and scratch filling polish. It will never remove then, it will mask them. Seal these in with a good sealant or wax and you should be fine.

For proper removal scratches can be machine polished, I personally wouldn't recommend G3, the technology is old, try something from the 3M or Menzerna range. If scratches are quite bad you can wet sand them but this is not for the faint hearted and should be tackled with great care.

Agreed with the above.

AG SRP is very decent, goes on easily and buffs off with little effort. For more localised areas, it's worth considering Meguiar's Scratch X. Last time I was in Halfords, I noticed they had released a new '2.0' version. Very good for slightly deeper scratches ime.

Wax wise, plenty to choose from. I use Meguiar's Gold Class.
