Ide thought ide share something I discovered yesterday. The chromie bars i bought are good but the plastics need a bit of TLC, normaly a quick heat up of the heat gun works but these plastics are a little too far gone..
Check this out............. Shoe polish works a treat.

Why buy that for £10 or whatever when you can just by cheapo liquid shoe polish for 89p and achieve the exact same result

?

You could always spray them satin black, last alot longer than shoe polish.

Not true im afraid geezer, i have a tub of the aforementioned Autoglym, had it for @7 years now, it cost £7.50 and the results are amazing, everytime. Fair doos youve got some sort of result there, but feckall compared to the Autoglym, but of course its just my, well, our opinion

By the way, Cheapo shoe polish! How very council

LOL @ Shoe polish!! Wonder how it'll be in the rain!
I've heard plenty of other budget suggestions such as WD40, baby oil and peanut butter.
I've recently bought AG Bumper Care and found that to be very decent actually.

I've heard a quick blast with a heat gun can restore tired black trim (never tried it though)

I heard Foreverblack is supposed to be really good, it comes with a pre-cleaner and a black dye. Will give it a try when I get my e30 this weekend

Looks expensive, compared to other products of the same type - there's loads of black trim conditioners out there that will do the same job for a lot less cash.
Please Note: Forever Black Bumper & Trim Dye is intended for porous, textured surfaces. Smooth plastic, vinyl, and rubber may not be able to absorb the dye and it will therefore streak.

That only works on the softer plastics, not so good on hard bumper plastics I'm afraid....

Your best bet is to clean the plastic first with a all purpose cleaner, then hit it with AG bumper care or Black wow or poorboys natural look.
Black wow is the best in my experience but at a price. None of them will last if the plastic is not cleaned properly first with a stiff brush tho.
