Just an off the wall thought
BTTTTTTTTTTTT

Have you ever seen what happens to tar when you spill diesel on it.
It goes rather soft very quickly

HMMMM
I wonder if that would work?

Tar removers normally contain petrol, so the logic is reasonably sound

Petrol works pretty well.
I used it to remove wood-stain that had been accidentally over-sprayed on the cabby.

claybars work wonders on this, depending how thick it os depends on the harshness of clay needed, but petrol and elbow grease works just fine

I use the AutoGlym Tar Remover - Works a treat!

Be careful using petrol or strong solvents when removing tar. They will remove the tar a treat but may damage the paintwork. I use Autoglym tar remover and it works fine. Give the car a good wash and polish afterwards.

petrol or diesel will work fine and as it doesnt damage the paintwork at the filler cap it wont damage the paintwork anywhere else. unless you rub it to hard using something abrasive.
