I need a very good cleaner to clean a very dirty carpet and get rid of green mold. I don't want to used VAX or anything like that because their quite expensive and I'll only use it once.
(Whole carpet has been removed from the car and is beige, cream colour)

Note I have a wet and dry vacuum.

Have you thought of hiring a carpet cleaner from B and Q or HSS for the day? Mate of mine has a menagerie of animals, all of whom seem to delight in sh*tting on his cream carpet. He hired one and it came up really well.

Other than that, I've used something called 2001 (or similar) which is carpet and upholstery cleaner - got red wine stains off cream fabric a treat :D Supermarket stuff

Blitz, I would be tempted to rinse it in a mild vinegar solution once you've cleaned it to make sure that all the mold spores are killed off. I'd say white vinegar on a cream carpet rather than chip variety, though.

If the carpet is out of the car then the high pressure cleaner is the best way to go. Not sure about later models but my '83 still has it's original nylon carpet and the stuff seems indestructible. I took it out, sprayed it liberally with a general fabric cleaner then blasted it with the high pressure wand. Came up a treat but takes a few days of warm, windy weather to dry.
Also worth considering dying that carpet if the stains won't clean. Mine came up really well (from beige to grey) and have seen a few other carpet dye success stories on this forum

I don't have a pressure washer, but there's one of those car wash places where you put your money in the machine and use their pressure washer.

thats what i would do......take it down to my nearest petrol station with a jet wash :P
But remember you have to get it home so have something to put it in to keep the rest of your car dry :D

autoglym do something, not 100% sure of the name, upholstry cleaner or something (green label IIRC)
works well on carpets and seats could give that a try, never tried it on mould however
