Engine cleaning?

Whats the best thing to clean an engine with? "GUNK" or something else?And is it cheap enough to buy new filler bottles and throw the grubby ones away?

I used Autoglym engine cleaner , great for removing oil and other crusty build up. Spray on and wash it off.

i wanna paint some parts like the manifold with high temp paint so i guess im gonna be using a mix of wire brush and chemicals...... I cleaned an engine in my triumph acclaim years ago with Ajax oven cleaner and that worked a right treat........im just gonna experiment i think............thanks for the input

gunk is good stuff mate... just spray it on... a rub with a brush if needed and then just rinse off

Yeah had a lot of people tell me gunk was good.....Used it before but wasnt good..Saying that the tin was like 10 years old and had been sitting in the shed :?

just spray it and let it dry out........ worked for me in the past just keep away from the air filter :P
