IS rear spoiler re-spraying?

I've got an Alpine White IS and the paint on the rear spoiler (is it called the Heckspoiler or does this just mean rear spoiler in German?!) is all cracked.

Given that the spoiler is sort of spongy can I strip and re-paint it (if so how?) or will it be easier to try and get one in better condition off somebody?

Cheers folks, it's bugging me and I want to try and sort it!

buy a black (unpainted) one (it looks good with the black window surrounds/sills, etc imo) from me, £20 winkeye

if it's all cracked it'll need to all come off and start again. for the hassle it'll be, start with either one in better condition that'll just need repainting or go for an unpainted one and ask a local body shop to spray it for you.

I definitely want it colour coded, so won't go for your black one adit, but surely the one i've got (which is fine apart from the paint) is salvageable!

Looking at your other topic about your tech 1 spoiler, I think your asking the right questions - what to get the paint off with without damagint the rubber, primer needed to seal the rubber? and what lacquer to use after to try and prevent it cracking?
