Audioscape / Similar Speaker Doorpods

My mate is after some Audioscape or similar doorpods for his e30.
Obviously i've shown him pics of audioscape ones and their obvious level of quality but are there other brands out there that do door pods? Im not really down with the kids with all this I.C.E.cream stuff, so pics or links would be helpful.
Muchos thanks to all the Audiophilles! (sp?)

I've not seen many at all, other than the audioscape items.
Why does he want door pods? If it's for a 3 way front end, or a significant increase in speaker size, then fair enough, but the stock locations are actually pretty good!

He wants door speaker-pods as he likes his music (he's in a techno/dance/euro-electro band/group thing)

and the sound quality in his car is shi....i mean... not very good at all!
He wants tweeters where the factory option items go in the backing of the wing-mirrors and doorpods with 17ish cm speakers to put out a bit more power/noise (delete as personal music opinion demands) The front kickwell speakers will only take shallowish 13cm items.

PARDON? The E30 footwell sound is completely bolox! Ive never come across an E30 with speakers in the front that actually do the headunit and amp justice. The size/shape of the a-pillar doesnt really help i know, but he's willing to pay for some sounds, both in speaker/amp and enclosure format.

If you have a look on Ebay, you can find them on there
Username Audiosport IIRC
They're similar to the Audioscape ones and £65 pr + delivery
Just remember to enquire about speaker mounting depth before buying(50mm IIRC)

Try in car parts/bmw/e30
or in the ice section
if they're posting at the mo they should be somewhere in there

I ordered mine through ebay and they are pretty good, just got them fitted and make a lot of difference compared to the footwell location.
They are a bit thinly made so make sure when you fit the speakers use a washer/clip.

Need something ready to screw straight on TBH. Also looking for something that looks more rounded in the speaker area. I reckon i could make those myself for about £10 and an hours work, but he wants something factory-ish-looking and professional.
Thank you for looking out for me though. Its very much appricuiated.

With a little preparation and reinforcement, the stock locations should be able to outperform those doorbuilds - especially given the limited volume - as they look to be sealed to me.
I can think of a few reasons - they are SOLID - one of the most important factors for good midbass reproduction. They are further away from the drivers ears, therefore minimizing path length differences and improving imaging. They are also in line of sight, whereas most doorbuilds tend to be obscured by legs.
Admittedly, it's a while since I've heard an E30 install, but mine will be taking shape soon (probably best to finish the engine first!) - so I'll be interested to hear the results.
