If it were me mate i would give them a sanding before respraying. If it was one or two small chips id probably use a touch up kit to fill in the gaps. I want to do mine soon... gona get another one though and keep one chrome

yep as Jay07 said, use a fine sand paper just to etch it, and for the spray paint, you can go to any paint shop or hardware store and get yourself a can of either matt black or glossy black. Which ever catches your fancy.

what u have to do is sand them down with 800 wet and dry then apply a light to medium coat of Etch primer this contains some kinda acid, this is used normally for priming aluminium and other bare metals but will bite into keyed chrome. once this has dried to the touch paint straight over it with either satin or gloss black hope this helps.

I'd recommend lacquering the grill after as this helps prevent stone chips... although the mat grill does look nice

bang on. i own a bodyshop and thats how i'd do it. you can do that with all sorts, ie platics. wiper arms etc but make sure if your doing plastics use a plastic primer and you key up all areas, degrease to prevent reaction with silicone bassed polishes. upol is very good shit for primers and satin black
