After getting new speakers all round in my cab, it still lacks in BASS big time!! So after reading threads on other peoples installs, ive decided to go for alpine Alpine Type Rs. Not One but Two 12" Type R subs!
Specs:
#
1,500 WATTS TOTAL OUTPUT per sub
# 500 watts RMS per sub
# Frequency Response: 23 Hz - 500 Hz
# Sensitivity: 87 dB
# Dual 2 Ohm Voice Coil Version
# Mounting Depth: 8"
# Sealed Box Volume: 0.7 - 1.0 cubic ft
# Ported Box Volume: 0.75 - 1.75 cubic ft
# Kevlar re-enforced Pulp Fiber Cone Assembly
# Santo-prene Rubber surround material stops un-wanted vibration noises and ensure clean sound
# Dual Voice Coil Design
# Cast Aluminum Frame
# This sub is vented and transfers the heat out of the sub so it stays cool at all times
# Concealed Mounting Gasket System Frequency Response: 24 Hz - 500 Hz
Next on the list is an enlosure to house the subwoofers! i dont want to go down the DIY route as i havnt a clue how and if i try, i would make a complete and utter mess!!
I found this ready made enclosure which is 12" Twin Bass Box 2 x 1.0 Cubic.Ft, Clicky
Do i go for sealed or ported? (whats the difference?)
Next is Amplifiers!
Any recommendations?
Should i power 2 subs off a one mono amp? (or 2 mono amps?
)
Or off a 2 channel amp?
Do i go for highest watts i can afford and just turn it down so not to blow the subs
or go according to the power the subs can handle?
Any brands in particular!? I havent really got a price limit!!
I have just been given a 4 channel kenwood amp from my bro which i will use to power the front components and rear speakers.
Sound proofing...
Does it make a difference?
what do i go for, is dynomat extreme the best?
will be looking forward your opinions!
Thanks you!
