I have had problems with my mono wiper, it definitely is not as efficient as a pair of wipers. Then the main rod which drives the mono wiper snapped after 5 years. Need to get a new rod machined but I still like the look of them and as long as you have a good coating of rainex then they are perfectly adequate.

Rainex little yellow bottle, halfrauds or similar, cannot remember but around 6 squid - apply and the rain just bounces off - little need for wipers except in torrential rain - really good stuff !

Hi Shaz, ive got a mono wiper conversion on my car, i got it from Storm wipers on ebay. I was impressed by the quality of the kit but it was pain in the arse to fit, we had to modify the linkage so that it gave enough travel with out the mechanism hitting itself. I also had problems the with wiper arm 'jumping' and causing the scuttle to flex. Its OK in the rain but theres an annoying screeching noise when it goes from left to right, which disappears when it goes back to the left. But at least it looks good, although i wouldn't believe the claims it takes an hour to fit.

Umar.

My scuttle flexed as well and needed reinforcing, plus the central position required for the mono wipe means you have to move the hole across a tadge.

I agree

Estimate it takes about 1 1/2hrs to do.

I think thats what i'll have to do as well as im worried about the paint cracking. I didn't have to move the hole when i fitted mine it lined straight up.

BadDave : I had a lot of problems fitting mine for some reason as the mechanism kept fouling on itself, it seems yours went on pretty easy.[/quote]

There shouldn't be any need to adjust the hole where the wiper spindle goes, other than reinforcing if the scuttle flexes

UmarK.
Yeah it all fitted pretty easily
Just a bit fiddly removiny the old mechanism adn trying to get the new one fitted.
Perseverance/stubbornness and determination won in the end though
