E30 Zone

I've seen a few photos out there showing E30s with the rubber rub strips (on the doors) painted to match the body colour.

Anyone on board ever try that? I'm assuming that because they're soft, that some sort of flex agent would be necessary to prevent the paint from cracking the first time it gets whacked.

Any thoughts/experience?

hi there i dont no if this is any help but there is a thing that you add to paint befor painting on to soft plastick but i dont no what it is called

You either use a plastic primer,or plastiser to the paint,but it can only be added to 2k paint,so if you doing it home the plastic primer is the safest and easiest way mate.

i did my rear spoiler with plastic primer and paint from the dealers and it looks cool

would be smart to have a solid colour without the break-up, but if someone opens a door on you thats the first thing itԚ´ll see and i wouldnt want to be you when you come back to the motor to see what somme lemmon has gouged in your door
