What color will the interior be, as this makes a big difference.
If light then go for a darker colour.
if dark go for a lighter colour.

hmmm, like i could possibly comment on this! Lmfao!!!! but try something a bit bifferent, go on try it, you might like it! hehe,

afraid im not up on the euro look, but im sure whatever you go for it will be a killer ride. personally what i went for with mine is black, but with a bit of something else in there for when the light catches it. my sig pic is a very rare sight! hardley ever see it showin its colours off that much, but most of the time it does just look black. but as you turn a corner it glints off a bit of violet or green and does make people look back a bit harder!

but i know its not to every zoners taste, and its not the look your going for, so what the hell was all this about? hmm, i think it was a stab at " dont follow a trend, set one!" if you get me.

The colour makes the car so I need to get it right. Going to get some colour charts from dealers to see what I like.

something subtle is the way to go imho. silver / anthracite / black. it won't date unlike a colour that seems very cool at the time of respraying.

the biggest thing to ensure is that all the door shuts and underbottet areas etc (inc behind grille) are the same colour or it will ruin the car. i assume with your M30, you'll be showing people under the bonnet a lot and old non-matching paint will look sooooo bad.

this is why i'd most likely stick with a fresh respray in the original colour (silver?) as it's classy already. unless cost is no object of course but for the extra money, i'd spend more on the rest of the car and driving it! :D

gareth has made most sense here i reckon. unless you're back to a shell a colour change is very difficult to pull off completely, so i'd suggest sticking to lachs.

or else cadburys purple. bmw's take on this was burgundy red matallic - a rare but very beautiful colour. (check out dave waldon's hartge for an example) and it could have been on your car from the factory - bonus.

no i don't. dave waldron's hartge was featured in total bmw october 2004 and he is a zone (at least was) a zone member. do you want me to take the mag along to gaydon?

Yeah i know what you mean keeping it subtle is the best way forward i reckon. But its your car dude so whatever takes your fancy really. Im sure you will make the right choice.

I have not got any decent pics of my car at the moment as its being resprayed AGAIN as we speak but i will be posting up pics in my 'respray in progress part II' thread.
