E30 Zone

Compadres!

I'm hoping to lower my 4 door E30 320i but am not sure by how much. I have original 14" BBS cross spokes so I don't think it would look right if it was lowered too much. I don't have the cash for new wheels right now but would like some 16" Alpina's eventually. The car needs new shockers anyway so any advice on how much to lower the car and what springs etc to buy would be super.

I'm on a budget, so think more looks than performance, if you will.

drop it to the ground mate! 60mm kit should be wkd or go for the hr kit.

I will recommed the bilstein touring shocks(15% incresse in pressor over stock) and the bavauto springs (1.25" drop) this gives a great look without the harsh ride and the handling improvment is nice my g-tech showed a reading of .82 G's with stock (well worn) and .94 G's after. The cost is around $500. hope this helps

thanks for the replies folks. i think 60mm might be takin it too far with 14" wheels? just personal pref at the end of the day! 1.25" drop sounds good (been googling for photos) and I just found the e30zone shop... looks like they've got what I need

Hi mate heres a pic of my lhd e30 on 14" bbs dropped 40mm


The springs are ventura and bilstein shocks, handles ok but tyres object if you really push it in a bend 90 +, whole job only took hour and a half and cost about £240.

lefty - looking good.

yardie - gsf do reasonable -40 springs, any more and you're messing with ride quality and/or tyre and/or other other part replacement1/wear issues

i'm not saying it can't be done - it's just more time/cost.

tbh your probably better waitinh till you got cash for your wheels then stick them on, then lower it according to the 16's?

Go for 40mm, keeps it sensible as said above. Wheel and tyre is going to make no difference as presumably your going to keep the rolling radius the same ! The cab in my sig is 60mm with 15's. I've since put new spax 40mm on it, much improved useability !
