Bodystyling on my White 1990 325i Auto Convertible

I have still got the White M-Tech I bodykit collecting another layer of dust in my papa's garage. It's been there for over a year. The main reason it's still there is down to funds and also not knowing whether it will exactly fit onto my car.

The point is that my car is a convertible and I'm more than sure that the front and rear spoilers will fit exactly onto my already colour coded white metal bumpers. It's just the side skirts that I am not quite certain of. Will they fit, or will they need a lot of work being adjusted or altered in ayway or form.

I am more than 85% certain that I would like to have them on my car. I know I was going to keep it as classic as I could, but I don't think it will spoil the look of the car, because it is OEM. It's not as though I am putting a M-Tech II bodykit on her. Although it is strange that my car came with an M-Tech II steering wheel. Which now makes me think, should I be putting an M-Tech II bodykit on her?

As soon as I know that it will fit okay or that there isn't much work needed to be going into the side skirts, then I will save at the reddies and put it on in 2005.

I'm going to ask the E30 Zone master chief - Demlotcrew if he will show me how to put on my cruise control that I have got and later on in the year, I will be acquiring an aircon unit, and I will want to get that in ready for our ever so hot summers!  With the kind permission of Andrew; that is. Boy am I going to have to be doing some work to get my car and me into some fit shape. I know the car will hold out; it;s just me that might not!

Perhaps I should put it to a vote and see what you guys think of my car having the M-Tech I bodykit being added to it.

Stick it on!

My first E30 was a white convertible with black leather, 15" BBS's and an Mtech 1 kit. It was sweet.

leave it! (theres always one that goes against the grain!) sell it and make the dosh back lizzie, then, put that cash to a tank of optimax, pack of tea bags, sugar and some milk and fit the cruise and aircon with demlot! :P

I almost sold my car to get a convertible to convert into an M-tech II one.
I think bodykits on convertibles look bad @$$
To be totally honest i dont like the look of a normal E30 cab, they look a bit jacked up, BUT theyre miles better than an ultra slammed rude boy one on 18"s and phat bodykitz. M-tec I or II all the way, and (heres the contriversal bit) put the rear spoiler ON! 8)

You don't have any old photos of it? Would love to see what my car could look like.

yeh they can fit. . im sure with a bit of modding though

The other alternative is painting your lower sills the same colour as the car.

There's an idea. Use the front and rear spoilers, and just have the sills painted...

Hmm...

Just get on and sell the thing dude. :!:

No probs mate, thanks for getting back to me.

If you still want that valance and wing mirror, bang the cheque in the post recorded delivery or something, and i'll get it tomorow or thursday at worst. Alternatively, internet banking is good for me. :) That will be in my account tomorow at latest i think and i can have the valance and mirror off to you before the weekend even knows its here!

Let me know mate!

Cheers!!!!

i think you should just paint the sills. Im not sure bout an Mtech (even tho i voted for it). I think it would just look better by painting it.

Hi Lizzie

I think u should go for an mtec 2 kit on the cab to be honest. Esp after looking at Sooty's car!

Makes me wish i had kept the q plate now!

(I'm not saying that cause i got one for sale BTW!!)

Which reminds me - how u set for the weekend - i should be able to drop off the kick panels Sat afternoon if that is ok!

Q

m-tech kit

yes, yes, yes, do it!! With the exception of the tan leather (mines black) and the cruising lights, that yankee car is the spit of mine - down to the alloys and their colour. I know each to their own, but BMW kit is very stylish, and people in the know, know that it's a) genuine and b) expensive. It should just bolt on. Go for it!
