Which connector would be negative?

From reading what google searches have found, the radial side (A) seems to be the positive, always like to double check with a human though

Are you using the original (provided) wiring? In which case it should be obvious from the size of the spade connectors.

If you see the cone of the speaker you can test polarity with an AA battery

I think most (if not all) E30s came with the wires tucked somewhere behind the footwell speakers.
