Subwoofer placement in a CAB

Alright guys.

So I have been googling the hell out of this and found a few results but nothing I feel comfortable doing, i want to upgrade the sound system in my e30 Cabrio and put a small subwoofer in )not after heart skipping bass just decent quality)

I have seen people hacking up the rear bulkhead and putting subs in that but I am concerned for the structural rigidity doing this.

The problem is I cannot just put a subwoofer in the boot as the double bulkhead design pretty much isolates the sound and just rattles the car with little to no bass coming through - even more so with the roof down!

There is not enough space under the seats for an underseat subwoofer.

So what other options do I have here to upgrade the system?

Thanks

Craig

How much boot space are you willing to give up?

if you take the carpet out of the rear of the boot, you can squish a wedge shaped ported box in there. it also helps o vent the bass through into the cabin. I used to have this exact setup, with two 10" subs and a 1000w amp. worked really well, although like you say it does rattle a tad. ive currently got two 8S there, in a similar design, but I suspect to get the volume that i want back, ill have to go back to 10"s again.
Cheers Chris.
