Original wiring

Found an old bmw bavaria radio that i was wanting to fit to my E30.
On pulling the nasty looking kenwood one out the wiring looked a bit vague.
Dropped the glove box and looked behind and found that the wiring that had been put in was anything but factory.
Is there any original wiring that is supposed to be used in the e30 for the stereo? are they pre wired ?
Mine does have the original mask plate, so possibly never came with a stereo, but cant believe it wasnt prewired, since it has every other extra in it (computer, headlight wash, cruise etc etc)
Is there something i should be looking for?

I believe there is an OEM piece of loom which plugs into the accessory socket behind the glove box - I've seen one for sale either here or ebay recently, so might be worth a troll through - or stick up a wanted ad!!!

Alternatively, re-wire it yourself, properly!!!

I was going to rewire it myself, but if theres a proper loom i think i would rather go down that route, for the sake of originality and the fact it will plug straight into the original stereo i found :)

there is , aas above it plugs in the big connector block by the glove box ,i removed no oem wiring from mine and replaced with the original loom

it may not plug in to the stereo still, as dont forget often in 90s etc the original loom way of been cut to fit modern stereos, and also the loom you can find, and what wires or block is on your stereo

just source the loom, post a wanted ad on here and go from there, you may have to attach the right iso block or connectors to the end of it, and matching ones on your stereo, as some of these older stereos dont have an iso block

on further removal of panels etc from under the dash, it looks like there has been some electrical work done (possibly why it was off the road for years and i have very low mileage).
definitely no wiring at all for the stereo,
only found 1 empty plug/block next to the glovebox , but the wiring seems a little thin for the stereo,
top left side of picture is the only block empty[img][/img]
the speaker wire you see has been poorly fitted by some previous owner

See the thin white 4 pin socket, that's where the stereo loom plugs in

You need to find an original plug for it with some wire, and then to that you wire in an ISO connector block , and connect speaker wires to it also , do you can then put in and remove/swap any stereo with ISO blocks - which most have
