Alpine cheap jobbies - £23 delivered ot eh higher powered models for £45 delivered (cheap compared to elsewhere)
http://www.online-caraudio.co.uk/shop/s ... -13cm.html
or
Kenwood dual mags. I remember haveing a set of these probably 10+ years back that were in Cavalier Gsi front doors - I even amped them and they sounded great (albeit the larger brothers).
Do you think it actually makes much difference spending the extra on either the dual mags or higher powered Alipnes and what would you recommend ?
Thanks

If it's any help, Iput some 60 quid pioneers in my touring last week and i couldn't notice any difference at all over 22 year old standard speakers. Refund tomorrow I hope!

i think perhaps the standard 22 quid alpines then! (took the originals out today and they are rotton - no surround left on them at all!!).
Maybe saving on speakers should be put towards a small amp/sub then!
Cheers

get a set of components I bought a set of these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alpine-Car-Sp ... 3cbbeeb59d
or these if cash is really tight

The best place to start with the speakers is getting the high freq's pointing at your head and not ankle.

Unfortunately you're never going to get a fantastic set up with the restricted size of the speaker locations in an E30. Have you thought about adding door pods?

Where would the tweeters be mounted with compeonents? On the side mirror caps - anyone got pictures of how they would look?
Trying to keep the car stock and not sure I want add on speakers in view - but on flip side understand the comment posted that speakers pointing towards ankles will never give right imaging etc

If I remember, i'll try to get some pictures... My speakers are installed down in the front footwells. Normal 13/15cm, what ever size they are... With tweeters built into the centres, the kick panels went straight back over them too... I wouldnt have anything non oem looking in there

These are the OE pods
http://www.e30zone.net/modules.php?name ... ht=tweeter
but the Alpine ones if you take your time look fine.
I've got a pair kicking about somewhere so I'll get you a pic. I cannot stress about taking your time, working out where you can screw to secure the pod as the pillars, stuff behind can trip you up.
BMW still does these, but you won't get much change from a ton.
