How comes kenwood amp for infinity components/subs etc? reputable bits of i.c.e there mate doubt you will disappointed, also it may be worth considering a power cap for that sub sounds like it could pack a punch!

what head unit are you using Rav? You may be as well not amping the rear speakers up - get a better 2ch amp for the fronts and just use the head unit to fettle the frequencies sent to the rears to fill in from where the sub leaves off

You wont really need components for the rear, just a couple of 2-ways shirley.

What diameter speakers can you fit?

I'm not butchering a nice rear parcel shelf, these will be going into a custom housing in the rear.

Speakers are 5.25cm

I bought the lot as listed, it came in at under £500.

2x12" infinity subs
2 kenwood 4 channel amps, bridgeable to 2 for the subs
2 sets of comps
and the usb kenwood h/u.

Rodderz, anything up with the amp??
How old is it???? :D
Can never have enough amps in a car.

I bought it new about 7 years ago, took it out of the car 4 years ago, and it has been sat around sinse then.

I have to say that, sound is produced from speakers. Speakers are really the first consideration in a system, any amp will only supply your ears with as good a quality a sound as your speakers will deliver..

The next consideration is how the sub, the 6x9's either 1,2 or 3 way, the rears either 1 or 2 way and the fronts - 1 or 2 way are instructed to deliver the frequencies given from the amps(s)

IMO to uncomplicate the sound, speakers are the first consideration, the number of amps (and compatibility these) is a second, the cable and quality of installation is also a factor..

Really, an amp worth its salt is as good as it was when purchased..

I have an alpine MRD300, a RF 300x, RF100.2, some infinity reference fronts, phoenix golds, an RF HE 12" & an alpine 55wx4 head unit.. After mucho faffing around, I found some dodgy Sony Xplod that came free with an e36 I once had a fling with a much better match to the £400 alpine unit!

PM'd Rav

500 quid - limited knowledge but i'd look at mounting of front speakers and spend remainder on good quality amp and sub for boot.

There is an interesting other thread, apparently you can still get side mirror tweeter pods from BMW for around £100 quid - very expensive, but I'd get these, a reasonable (£100 ) pair of front components, £60 quid rear shelf 6" coax which will give £250 for sub and amp (barring cabling on top perhaps....).

Whay do people think?

Found them quite heldful too.
Went to one audio shop over here, i was priced over £800 8O for stuff i never heard off  , and then when i tried to tell him what i wanted, he didn't want to know, only kept pushing all the "Chinese" gear to me.
When I spoke to these guys, he told me why the guy was pushing the other stuff, apparently that was their own branded stuff.
