Here are the low beam lights

Can you tell me plz from what material did you make the cross for the main beam? I'm using some kind of plastic but I'm afraid it's gonna melt because of the heat created by the bulb

i was also gonna use plastic but i found it was too thick and looked really ugly with the lens on
so i went to B & Q and got a sheet of 2mm thick mild steel
it bends though while you are cutting it
especially the intricate bits

These look really good but unfortunately at the moment I dont really have the time/skill/resources etc to try it out. Is there anyone that would be willing, if supplied with a set of headlights, and obviously for a fee, to do the conversion??

Thanks

no mate no secret material

i used the original silver plastic part
i cut a channel for the angel eye to sit in and sprayed it black

it all depends what you want mate
you can get do it yourself kits on ebay from around Ԛ£15
but these are normally ultra white so dont look that original

or you can get the full headlight kit for about Ԛ£200
but these i think look a little too modern for the e30

the ones i have is a fibre optic kit i got for Ԛ£70 on ebay its the only kit i have seen like it

get a good result too
have a pic before smoked

think i will go for the "ultra white" cause i dont like the "some ones took a leak in ur headlights mate" look so all the bulbs are being changed asap,

My secret material is a black CD - the outer diameter is around 12cm so it fits perfectly. The only thing I had to do was to cut the center hole for the len.
I got my kit for about 40 pounds, one guy here imports them directly from china. This one is a gas filled tube. My previous angeleyes were completely DIY - made from plastic stick bent to the desired diameter, then the grooves were cut and then the diodes attached. But it didn't look even a half this good.

Good effort on the smoked lenses!

Got to be honest on the angel eye thing though, can't stand them on the E30, angel eyes on anything other than newer BMW's look chav imho!
