Do they exist for the e30, having trouble sourcing them on the net

Ive never seen a carbon fibre E30 grill, only ones for the later BMs and some of those stick onto/over the original with double sided tape!
Im looking at making some carbon fibre bits up at the moment, so I could maybe sort something out to get an E30 kidney grill done.

Carbon Fibre Kidney Grill's

This sounds really good! I'd definately be interested in this if you produced any, as well other carbon bits.
Keep us posted!

Let me make some enquiries and I will see what can be done with regards to moulds etc.
Im still trying to find another supplier of Carbon Fibre as the guy Ive used before has shut down, and apparently theres a shortage of CF at the moment so the price is going up

Sorry guys, Im working nights at the moment so this may take a little longer to sort out than I hoped.
Just had a quick look and think about this and I think the only way is to do the chrome bits of the kidney grill in carbon fibre, like these E46 ones...
To do the vertical bits of the grill would be very time consuming and cost loads in CF.
What do you guys think of that?

Exactly what i was looking for, not interested in the vertical inserts personally

You'd probably have to change your account settings.

Sorry for not getting back sooner - Ive been working away from home with no internet access.
Ive just sorted through my Emails and got replies from both the places I contacted. Going by the price of CF at the moment, I wont be doing any work with CF for a while. The last time I got some CF sheet it was Ԛ£18 a square metre including resin. The cheapest Ive found now is Ԛ£30 a square metre plus resin
The guy who emailed me said the price will come down again but not for a while yet.
Anyone know how this stuff works or how good the finish is?
It may be ok for the Kidney grills and you may able to do a couple of grills to keep the cost down??

I changed my account details so i dont get them anymore. Im on a couple of forums and if I got an e-mail everytime someone replied to a thread I would have 100 e-mails a day.
By posting a message I can view all posts under my name and see what I have been looking at.
Sorry off topic

i have had a few problems too getting messages and finding out about subject replys.the other thing is carbon fibre is in short supply at the minute because most of it is been bought up because of the rather big airbus building project.
usual price fof carbon mat 2x2 400gm twill weave is 12 to 14 pounds a square metre.resin is about 10 pounds a gallon.
dont worry coty im on with spoiler fitting its close, its a bit big around the back window with copying off rubber and still trying to find some fitting clips as the origionals are now extinct.i will find something.
catch you later

i just bought myself 6sq metres of twill at Ԛ£18 a metre my supplier says he will have until the end of 2006 but not to worry as they are working on a replacement carbon that is only designed for cosmetic looks and not structural integrity which can be placed in the mold as a top layer just so it looks good
i am building a replica alpina front spoiler for my e30 from carbon i thought about a grille but as my car is black i think it will be too much if there is enough interest i can maybe look into it i was also thinking of a complete centre console in carbon what do you guys think
