New style BMW RDS - can it fit in the E30?

Advice please, can this be installed in an E30?

If so, do crazy modifications need to be done to the wiring or will it be a plug and play jobbie. Will the telescopic aerial still work?

Many thanks :)

I can see no reason why this shouldn't be a straight forward install, depending on the type of connection on the back of it and how that compares to what's currently behind your dash.

Not sure if the BMW head units use the standard ISO connection or their own. Either way, it's do-able. It should also have a signal output on the back to make the electric antenna work.

I have this unit (from an E36 originally) in my E30 along with it's CD changer. Works well, electric aerial works fine, but cannot comment on the plug'n'play wiring as my car's wiring had already been butchered for a newer headunit.

Martin.

I've used one before. What you need is to cut some of the loom out an E36.
