Without looking at it, I would probably get hold of another side grill or 2, and bond them together. Sand and paint.

as for making one, if your creative and good at this sort of thing then its quite easy. i spent about 4hrs from start to finish.
mine's made from alloy, i did look into making one using the original grill's but it's far easier in alloy.

clive.

To properly pull it off you need to smooth out the lump in the bonnet too, it looks odd with the lines easing to the kidneys and then there's nothing there.

Im pretty sure i read on a german website that they originally used a modified mk1 golf grill to make the single light grill on the E30

Looks odd but interesting at the same time.. Not my cup of tea though

That kidneyless grey one was the picture I saw that made me decide to buy an E30! Still haven't found anywhere selling anything like it or even anything near a tutorial :(

Only problem with using smoked headlights, is you'll only have dipped beam units, if you delete the inner lamps. Most people switch to Golf headlights I think if they go single headlights conversion.

Rams e30 is bad ass, he has done the same to the rear end too and that has a smoothed engine bay and a V8 to suit. i saw it in the flesh at players yesterday looks even better!!! he won a trophy for one of the best non vags of the show.
