I run a Vibe 12 inch slick sub and a vibe slick a4 amp with two 6-9-3way vibe speakers on the back shelf sounds the nuts but the sub on its own sounds just as good, the only thing i can say is try the 10s out if it sounds better than the 12 Rockford you know what to do :D

It depends entirely on what you're trying to achieve. If you were to set up the two ten inch subs they would provide a good mid to low bass sound (and again, it depends whether you're wanting the two in seperate sub boxes or whether you're making a custom double box). The twelve on the other hand would give you the much lower end bass sound (and a lot more vibration).

I used to run two eight inch subs, contained within a single sub box, in my Mk2 GTi. That gave me the perfect sound as the bass wasn't deep and low but it was still very punchy...How happy are you with your mids (and/or tweeters if you have them)?

Alternatively you could design a custom setup which could contain both your tens and your twelve to give you the best of all worlds winkeye but I wouldn't reccommend that unless you have a good head unit powering your mids

(just my opinion :) )

If both the 10" produce the same RMS as the 12", then no point really.

Just swap 'em over and test to see which one you prefer :)

I'm running a 12" 1000W RMS sub, i could install some 10" so i have more boot space but they wouldn't be as powerfull :)

Personal preference really

10"s because they will produce more punchy bass

the 12s will produce more low down bass but wont be as punchy

My single 'unbranded' 8"er drops like a 12 and is as punchy as a 6 :D (not in an e30 btw)

imo it depends solely on what music you listen to!

I've got 2 x 12" 15yr old Pioneers in my Cab, but no boot space in a single iso box.
I like to listen to a lot of r n b, soul and reggae music so i love its low down bass.

It all matters to what music you listen to and if your speakers can deliver what you want.
