Retrofitting Tweeters

G'day, I purchase a pair of genuine BMW tweeters to replace the existing little panels at the A piller but there doesn't seem to be anywhere to run the wiring. Do I need to drill a hole next to the plug/socket that connects the electric mirrors or am I missing something obvious?

The wires should already be running through the car, the tweeter wires are usually hidden behind the standard mirror blanks. The other end of the wires also need to be connected up, these are behind the footwell speakers.
This post helped when I was doing mine:

Just been fitting a couple of tweeter pods this afternoon! The wires in the door were strapped down by the red plastic clips as I said in my post above. The wires behind the speaker panels were both lightly bound into the loom and had to be cut free. They are the same colours as the wires you find inside the door and one has a 6mm spade connector on the end with a white plastic cover, while the other has a blue plastic connector on it.

The speaker wires may be behind the door panel and you'd need to identify them in the footwells and hook them up to a crossover so they only get the high freqs

There are no wires behind the mirror blanks other than those running to the mirror (plug/socket).
The car is a early model, was the wiring in place on all models?
