Vinal Hardtop, can it be sprayed

Hi peeps

I’ve seen a hardtop on the Bay in vinyl blue, being vinyl is it possible to strip it back to metal and paint it?????

I'm pretty sure you can, the guy selling that hardtop is a zoner on here

Not metal charlie... its fiberglass underneath.. you have to strip the vinyl... then take off all the glue.. prep it then paint it!

a real pain of a job ...dont expect to do it in 5 minutes ...my sprayer said don't bring me another...

YEP!!! proper b*ll ache.. also recomended in an oven other wise sometimes the fiberglass warps and paint bubbles up... it can look awful......

i did all above. the finish product was wicked however 2months down the line bubbles appered everywhere.

it look nasy so i sold it.

i dnt know if it can be painted and not bubble up
find yr self A goog painter mine was shit.

if done right it will look wicked

its how you do the prep work,you can NOT use any machines or solvents as all this makes the fibreglass heat up and warp and solvents soak in and then trys to escape once paint hence the bubbling ,the labour is high to do them as it alot of old fashion man power ,zizzle oven has nothing to do with it

Probably cost in the region of about £1200-£1300 to get one done then unless someone has a lagoon green one already done winkeye
