I just got a replacement aerial and it has 3 wires going to a relay on and 2 to the motor
I have brown, red and white, I presume brown is the ground as it has a lug on it but what do I do with red and white, is red perm live and white remote(switched) live??
cheers in advance

I went with the above wiring and it worked ok, its a bit noisey on the way up and down, seems to be the motor. also its very long but i suppose there is nothing i can do about that or can you get shorter after market ones

It's a great noise when the old skool aerial goes up - means something works

It's like the noisy electric wing mirror adjustment !
In my 2nd E30 the aerial went up when I turned the stereo on, in my 3rd it went up when I turned the ignition on and the one I have now doesn't have an aerial - got a pound store fm aerial in the boot

ive always wired the signal cable to the blue wire on the radio that will make it come on with the radio rather than ignition

i turned stereo to cd but aerial did not drop. I am using the blue wire, there is a orange wire (illumination) and a white wire, I can't get 12v on either wire when i switch from cd to radio. its a jvc kd-g343 stereo.
Will i just have to put a switch on it????? I have a blank for switch beside rear window heater, can i get a switch that would fit there.
