Like this?
The kidney grille can just be painted with satin black, Make sure you rub the chrome section down properly so the paint gets a good key. You can buy pre-made black plastic ones which are better as they don't chip.
Headlights can be done DIY too but not an easy job apparently. Tylerma made mine and done a fantastic job. There is a guide here:

These also can be bought made by Hella, But they are tricky to get hold of.

Jake(shedrool83) on here can do them for you as well
He might have a set lying around at the moment or can make them to order.
He also does foglamps as well

I'm in two minds whether I should spray mine black.

Look a lot better in my opinion. The front of my touring looks a bit silly with a chrome one and no iS splitter at the moment...

I did mine (actually a donated spare - so I've still got the original) and I really do like the look. I went a bit overboard to ensure there would be no flaking in future, so after rubbing the chrome surface with very fine sandpaper to get a good key, I sprayed with acid-etch primer as an extra precaution. Several light coats of Plastikote satin black have given a very good finish. Make sure you do all of the grills though - they need to match perfectly to look right. Blacking out the front end is a bit old-hat nowadays, but if done well it really looks seriously impressive. On a delphin grey body it is de-rigeur.
