Direct Replacement Front Speakers

Can anyone recommend particular 5.25" speakers to replace the standard fronts in my Touring? I want to stick to standard sizes at the moment so no cutting the car about. Obviously the depth is the issue, the magnet has to fit in the recess behind and the tweeter can't stand out too far either so as not to foul the speaker cover.

There's loads to choose from on eBay but I have no idea whether they'll fit OK.

Thanks in advance folks. :)

all 5.25's should fit but 5.25's you would be best getting some compontents and some bmw door tweeter pods. but to get the best potential out of them you would be best amping them

these are what ive got but, never sounded good till i amped them.

Cheers for that Alex, they look just the ticket. I had a beautiful set of Infinity component speakers a few years ago and I was dead impressed with them......until they got nicked. :(

Not too fussed with amping them for now, I just want to replace the current, buzzy speakers with something that's not going to break the bank or take up a pile of time I need to be doing other jobs. But it's something I'll look into at a later date.

your head unit should be find to power a set of door speakers anyway mate.

components (spereate tweeters and a crossover) are the better quaility speaker (personal), but if you want a direct replacement go for coaxials (where the tweeter is mounted into the speaker)

those are a good speaker, but for a little extra

those are great heard them at a show few weeks back and they sounded great!!!

Good luck

Cheers for that gazmorgan1985, the first set is just what I'm looking for. Better ones can go in somewhere down the road but just something that I can listen to in comfort is all I want now.
