sub and amp wire

hi there guys i just got myself a little sub and amp just to make it sound better nothing ott.but there is one wire i dont no wot its for its on the wire that goes from the head unit to the amp theres a 2 pined on each end and a small wire in the middle of it.does anyone know what that does.many thanks

if the two pin wire your talking about is your rca's then the wire in the middle of it is the remote wire. this turns your amps on. hlh

oright so where does that wire go as iv got it workin but it stays on and drains my battery as it did last night and it will be a right pain taking the fuse out all the time.
On the back of your head unit, you should have a blue wire marked up 'remote' or 'electric ariel' and the wire you have will connect to this at the head unit end and to the 'remote' connector on the amp.
