no fake carbon here :-x

that is proper 200grm twill weave carbon fibre that i have wrapped over the original and then clear laquered.my mates say i should do the whole dash but i think that might be a bit OTT so i am going for glove box lid and the spokes on the steering wheel and the door sills and maybe the centre consol depending on how the rest look
(bonnet and boot with integrated spoiler coming soon)

bigkev - that's seriously impressive. If I still had a black grey interior instead of tan, I'd have done the same.

When I had my Sport, I did want to do the seat backs in Carbon but never got round to it.

Post the pics up when you get other parts of the car done.

haha, doesn't sound too promising!
its at a bodyshop being sprayed black as we speak, but i would love it covered in carbon
how expensive would it be to do? obviously it would just be for cosmetics.
let me know if you'd be keen - there's no rush etc. no drama either way though, just your advice on this would be interesting anyway.

no its a fucking nightmare to work with ,well actually its easy to work with but its getting that final 10% to get it looking perfect thats the bastard part it taken me 5years to get this stuff perfect(not the alpina) 8O
you can get it from lots of places at around £20 a square meter mainly ship building suppliers .but do your research first on what you want to do.do you need plain weave , twill weave ,2x2 or 2x4 , 3k , 6k ,or 12k carbon
there are also lots of resins,
clarity or for strength slow drying or fast drying (if you are vacuuming or not) and all the consumables thet go with it
my mates just come back from ulimate street car show and he says hes never seen so many yellow carbon bonnets :D makes me smile thinking what they paid for that crap

Eh? he tells you exactly where to get it
you can get it from lots of places at around £20 a square meter mainly ship building suppliers

and no it is not easy to work with. I did some work on my boat floor with normal woven fibreglass and its a nightmare, hence why its taken him five years to get right!

good work, is it much different to work with compared to woven fibreglass???
