Is it possible to retrofit US sidelights in my Euro-spec bumpers?

I think the Euro bumpers have separate 'inserts' on the side (not sure how the E30 bumper is constructed though Image). So are those inserts available with holes for the sidelights?

The US spec sidelights on my Mk1 sport are actually the indicator units as opposed to the small light inside the driving light as on euro cars. My US light units are also different as they are both sealed beams. If your side lights are the indicator units then yes you can fit them onto a european style bumper as the indicator units on the euro spec bumper should be the same as what is on yours, if memory serves correct they hang below the bumper??. if not get a euro bumper and euro indicator light units and re-wire. heres a picture of my sport with us spec lights and sidelights in the indicator unit, on the right is my cab with euro sidelights (which i changed for angel eyes) but as you can see the indicators units are the same.

dont blame you for junking the US bumpers as the are pig ugly!!!

Hi Mr. Lee, thanks for your reply, but those are not the lights I'm looking for. I also would like to have the 'continuous' lights in the indicator units, but I'm afraid that's not allowed here in NL.

What I was talking about are the small lights on the sides of the car. I'm trying to find the bumper inserts that can fit them but I can't find them anywhere (not in ETK at least).

here is an example of a convertible with those lights (the small lights in the sides of the bumper):

This looks pretty original to me but I can't find the parts (for the E34 they are readily available but not the E30 :( )

Good luck with your side lights

why isn't that allowed here in NL? all the american cars have it, that drive round here.

and as fore the side light have you looked around at some scrapies yet? (don't know if you're anywhere near there) but you could have a look at "de liede"
succes!!
